I have had long doubts as to whether the proposed Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) will ever be completed. Too many countries, too many issues. With Japan now talking about joining, I'm even more skeptical. But hey, what do I know? Let me ask others what they think with this poll question:
To be clear, the poll is not about whether you think the TPP should be completed. Rather, I'm trying to survey the expert readers of this blog as to what will happen.
(For those who read this blog by email or RSS reader, I think you'll have to go the web page to vote.)
ADDED: Canada and Mexico are now talking about joining as well. Does that further complicate the TPP negotiations? And on a completely different point, if NAFTA gets subsumed in the TPP, would that satisfy Obama's campaign pledge to renegotiate NAFTA?
UPDATE: With 45 votes in, here are the results:

I don't make any claim that this poll is scientific, but nonetheless, it seems that those voting expect that it will be a while before we see a completed TPP.
